Online English Speaking Lessons for Teens with a British Native Speaker.

Schools do a great job working with grammar, reading, and the boring parts of English language learning. What they don't do so well is helping your son or daughter sound natural and giving the opportunity to SPEAK English. This is where I step in with lively 1-on-1 conversational English lessons to get all that passive work your child has done to become active.

The Difference That Matters

Why years of school English leave teens hesitant to speak.

Most teenagers know grammar rules on paper. But when asked a simple question in real life, they freeze. This is mostly down to the lack of speaking practice, but not only...

School & Exam Classes

Passive Learning · High Anxiety
  • Silent Classrooms: 30 students listening passively while each student speaks for less than 1 minute per week.
  • Grammar-First Obsession: Memorising 12 verb tenses on paper without practising natural conversational flow.
  • Outdated Topics: Reading dry texts about Victorian history rather than topics teens actually care about.
  • Fear of Mistakes: Constant grading creates performance anxiety and fear of looking foolish in front of peers.

1-on-1 with Luke 🇬🇧

Active Conversation · Real Fluency
  • 70% Student Speaking Time: Dedicated 50-minute 1-on-1 Zoom sessions where your teen does 70% of the active talking.
  • 40 TeenSpeak Units: Real debates on AI, gaming rules, screen time, social media, side hustles, and travel.
  • Native British Accent: Direct ear-training for authentic rhythm, idioms, slang, and natural connected speech.
  • Zero-Judgement Atmosphere: Mistakes are embraced as natural learning steps with zero pressure (no need to be on camera).
The Reality in Schools

The worst part...

The saddest thing for me to hear from teenagers is that they aren't even being tested on their speaking skills at school. Reading, listening, writing — yes. Speaking — no.

I find that incredibly difficult to understand, especially when speaking is so often a student's strongest natural skill. Speaking is without doubt the most important skill in the real world.

Your son or daughter will not thrive in this global world without speaking English — and the sooner we get them speaking and feeling comfortable, the brighter their future will be.

The Learning Roadmap

From hesitant & shy to spontaneous & fluent.

Lessons are all about speaking and communicating — not exercises.
PHASE 1 · WEEKS 1–2

Dismantle Speaking Fear

We establish a relaxed, zero-pressure rapport. Luke discovers what your teen loves (gaming, music, hobbies) and gets them comfortable speaking in English without second-guessing.

Stops freezing, starts enjoying calls
PHASE 2 · WEEKS 3–6

Topic-Driven Debate

We introduce our interactive TeenSpeak lesson units. Your teen defends their opinions on real-world topics (e.g. "Should schools ban smartphones?"), expanding active vocabulary and British idioms.

Expresses complex opinions naturally
PHASE 3 · WEEKS 7+

Unstoppable Fluency

Conversational speed and pronunciation lock in. English stops feeling like a school translation exercise and becomes a second natural voice for travel, school exams, and future international opportunities.

Fluent, confident native rhythm
50-Minute Lesson Architecture

How a lesson actually works.

Any vocabulary or expressions in the questions a student doesn't understand will be explained. Any repeated mistakes they make will be hot-corrected — I will correct them live and explain why it's a mistake. I will not stop a student if they are in full flow, but will come back to it if needed.

"Teenagers don't struggle with English because they lack grammar knowledge. They struggle because nobody gives them enough opportunities to SPEAK and express themselves freely."

Over the past 15 years, I’ve taught hundreds of teenagers across the globe. All of them say the same thing: they aren't getting enough English speaking practice at school, their speaking isn't tested, and they want to speak English!

In my 1-on-1 Zoom sessions, I give them that chance. I give them every opportunity to speak, be free, and say what's on their mind. There is no judgement happening in the classroom. The world has changed since I was a teenager, so it's just as interesting for me to learn about how the younger generations see the world.

Our topics are new and fresh, and most of the time we don't even get to the end of them. Why? Because your son or daughter has gone on a tangent which has turned their English fluency to 90% mode. That's the magic.

There are no boring grammar worksheets or following a course book. If your child makes a recurring mistake, I explain it clearly in 30 seconds and we immediately put the correct phrase back into active speech. We talk about any mistakes — it's all done through communication.

Frequently Asked Questions

What ages do you teach?
I specialise in teenagers aged 13 to 17 (from secondary school to high school). All 40 interactive TeenSpeak lesson units are written specifically for teenage interests and maturity levels.
What is the minimum level you teach?
I work with students from B1 (intermediate) level upwards. B1 is an ideal level to start speaking more confidently and make the leap towards B2. TeenSpeak has been designed with B1/B2 students in mind.
What if my son or daughter is very shy?
Most of the teenagers I teach start out shy! The lessons are designed to break the ice in a relaxed, friendly way with zero performance pressure or classroom grading.
Do teenagers need to have their camera on?
No! Camera off is 100% fine if your teen feels self-conscious. Luke turns on his camera at the start to say a warm hello, and from then on we focus purely on audio, active speaking, and the on-screen presentation slides with zero visual pressure.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
The notice period depends on your plan. Flexible lessons can be cancelled or rescheduled at any time. For the Weekly plan, give at least 12 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule; for the Twice weekly plan, give at least 6 hours’ notice.
How do booking and payments work?
All bookings are managed securely through our NativeUK Booking Page. You can pay via Bank Transfer, Revolut, Card, or PayPal with instant confirmation.
